Typhoon Jangmi continued to bring heavy rain and strong winds to the Amami region on Tuesday, June 2, as it moved northward through the archipelago. Hourly rainfall of 37mm was recorded in Yamato Village on Amami Oshima. Authorities warned of rapidly intensifying rain bands from dawn, raising the threat of landslides and flooding across the region.
